Khurshid Bandyopadhyay is a senior management professional who has a strong belief in the pursuit of excellence. She has over 3 decades of work experience in the start-up and management support of high technology service businesses of multinational companies. She has a proven leadership in strategic communications and brand building, besides proficiency in marketing, human resources management and quality.
As Director, Mumbai/Western Region operations for TMI India, she is a central resource for OD interventions. Khurshid has two Post Graduate degrees both from a leading University in India...an MA in Economics (affiliated to the prestigious Gokhale Institute of Economics and Politics, Pune), and a Masters in Management Science also from the Pune University.
Prior to her joining TMI, Khurshid has handled diverse assignments across organizational levels and has extensive experience in branding. She has helped build two major brands in the country… Xerox in India, and the branding for a holding company, comprising diverse joint venture businesses - Alcatel, Xerox, Telstra, Spice, International Paper, GBC, Olivetti.
Towards building a robust organization culture in Xerox in India, Khurshid spearheaded the initial TQM journey jointly with HR. The focus was on vision deployment, strategic and brand alignment. As Brand Champion for Xerox in India, Khurshid led Communications strategies and implementation of plans & programs both for external and internal stakeholders.
Between 1982-2000, Modi Xerox became a unique & distinctive brand, well entrenched in the Indian market, connecting the hearts and minds of over 2,50,000 customers across 500 locations, 2500 employees, the extended family of 500 channel partners and 300 vendors & suppliers. Additionally, the brand earned the admiration of the corporate world. Modi Xerox was declared the most successful Joint Venture of that decade and received accolades for benchmark HR practices, marketing initiatives and customer service.
Many communication deliverables were heralded as benchmark in the country and in the Xerox World (across 40 countries). Amongst them were award winning corporate brochures, ad campaigns, corporate & product launches, employee newsletters, teamwork events, meritocracy awards, audio visuals.
In 2000, Khurshid led the media & PR effort for a major corporate restucturing exercise, followed by the successful repositioning of the company in the digital solutions & services space. She steered Docuworld, the first ever Xerox-led global Knowledge Sharing Initiative in India, with Alvin Toffler as keynote speaker. She also helped showcase (in India), the pioneering work of Palo Alto Research Centre (PARC) on ‘Living Documents’, reflecting state-of-the-future interaction design.
Other areas of Khurshid’s vast work experience encompass : marketing through sole selling agency, mass marketing through dealers, direct 1:1 marketing ; concept selling for enhancing white collar productivity in the country ; Project start-up and management support for joint venture operations in India (inclusive manufacturing, corporate and field operations across 100 locations) ; collaborator relations ; corporate governance support ; inter-department management ; external regulatory management ; HR management for over 500 people ; support in start up of a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) in the country.
